August 8, 2016 Welcome to second grade! My name is Mrs. Esposito and I am thrilled to be your teacher this year! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. Most of all, I can’t wait to learn all about you, but until then, here is a little bit about me. My wonderful husband and I have two amazing boys; Peyton who is 6 years old and going into First Grade and Maddox who is 3 ½ years old. We have had a busy summer enjoying the outdoors, fun day trips, and going on vacation to New Hampshire and Lake George. Some of the things I love to do the most are read and spend time outside biking, running, and playing with my family. Another thing that I really love is being a teacher! I have been teaching at KES for 9 years now. I love to watch my students grow and blossom throughout the year and I am looking forward to doing that with our class this year too! On the attached sheet are the directions for your first assignment as a second grader! It will be a great way to introduce yourself to our class. Like I said before, I can hardly wait to learn all about you!! Supplies: All materials will be provided in the classroom, but if you wish to bring some of your own items, here are a few suggestions. · Erasers · Pointed scissors (Fiskars brand works great) · A pencil box to hold your items · Crayons-24 colors
· 1 pack # 2 pencils Snacks: We will have a daily working snack in the morning. Please bring in healthy items and a water bottle that you can use throughout the day. Notes: The school must be notified by a note or phone call if there are different arrangements for pick up, bus or after school activities. A note is necessary if you are being picked up by your parents or another parent, you are going home on a different bus, or you are staying after school for an activity, afterschool, etc. Notes make dismissal time run more smoothly for both the students and myself. Please keep this in mind for the first day of school. As the first day of school nears I would like to give you a chance to stop in to take a peek at our room. Please feel free to pop-in for a visit on Tuesday, August 30th from 2:00-3:00. If you are not able to make it, I will look forward to seeing you on the first day of school! Enjoy the rest of your summer! Your Teacher, Mrs. Esposito Me Bag Directions Please fill a paper bag (this will be your “ME Bag”) with things that tell something important about you. For example, since I like to read I might put in my favorite book or a drawing of my favorite book. You will share your items with your classmates the first week of school so they can learn about you and the things you like. You may decorate the outside of the bag any way you wish but be sure to mark your name on the outside. There are some rules to follow: 1. Only bring things that fit inside the bag. 2. The items can't be too heavy - you should be able to carry the bag yourself. 3. Only bring items that can be left at school for the week. 4. Bring no more than 5 items. 5. Make sure you can use each item to tell something important about yourself. 6. Most importantly, have fun with this activity!! |
