It was another short week filled with learning. In reading we have been discussing the "lingo" or expert words that go with our nonfiction books. We learned that readers need to understand and use the lingo that goes with their topic. We can use the entire page to help unlock the meaning of key words like predator, territory, or habitat by reading the headings, captions, and text boxes. In writing, we learned how to write introductions and conclusions for our information books. Their books are filled with some great information! Math this week focused on skip counting by 5's, 10's, and 100's. We then applied skip counting to counting sets of nickels and dimes. The highlight of the week though was learning about Veterans Day and honoring our veterans at the KES Veterans Day Assembly. Thank you to all who serve and have served in our armed forces!
